Conference guide lines
The conference language is English. Extended abstracts of contributions will be published in the Springer Series in Geomechanics and Geoengineering (EI indexed). Selected full papers will be peer reviewed and published in Acta Geotechnica.
The conference will be held at the university campus near our institute, which is close to the most beautiful park in Vienna, the Türkenschanzpark with a charm unique to Vienna. There are a number of quality hotels with fair price near our campus. We will negotiate good conditions for our participants.
Travelling to Vienna
Vienna is well connected with major European and international airports by direct flight. The airport is about 16 km from the city centre. There are several transportation options from the airport to our university: 1: S-Bahn and buses (7 Euro); 2: Buses (7 Euro); 3: City Airport Train (CAT) and bus (15 Euro); 4 Taxi (about 35 Euro).
Our colleagues from China will need to apply for entry visa to Vienna. We can provide invitation letters for the visa application.
There are a number of social events for the accompanying persons. Moreover, we will organise an ice-breaking cocktail evening and a banquet during the conference. We are grateful for the generous support of the City of Vienna for sponsoring the banquet. The summer in Vienna is warm but very pleasant with temperature around 30°C.
